  • Mirror Mirror on the wall!🪞I was inspired by these estate sale finds to create a vintage Snow White themed Halloween mantle. I purchased the mirror in a house once owned by Cher! While the mirror likely belonged to the current owners, I’d like to think that perhaps it was Cher’s and she left it behind in a move. 😄 Either way, it’s a cool story! The sconces I found when the show Vampire Diaries liquidated all of their props and set pieces. Estate sales and thrift stores can hold some fun treasures! While much of this was collected, I filled in a ton with Amazon finds, like the cauldron and ravens, all linked in my Storefront! From the spell book, to the magic mirror, these were some fun DIYs!   • My most controversial DIYs & I stand behind all of them!!! Except the doorknobs 😂 I didn’t notice until after I posted, but cut me some slack after I converted those doors! Painting an outlet cover. If the manufacturer says it’s paintable, then I feel fine to paint it. I painted it all separately so it’s still removable. For crown moulding, if you don’t know what coping is, you’re in the right place. Sure coping is the more professional way, but I’m not a pro and my videos aren’t for pros. They’re for everyday home owners to approach hard things in a simpler way. Yes you can drywall a basement ceiling! It’s a huge value add. Don’t worry, I already renovated the spaces over this room and don’t plan to change around plumbing. If there’s ever a leak, yes I’ll repair the drywall. The same goes for every room in my house. This faux stone countertop was a way to achieve the look for less. An mdf countertop obviously won’t have the same waterproof/hardness/sanitary properties as stone. This is in a home theater though. We’re not cooking on here, and I wipe up spills when I catch them. It’s sealed with 3 layers of poly and no issues. You could seal with epoxy instead for even more durability. You also can’t beat the $50 price for this look.   • Don’t let anyone tell you “You Can’t”. Maybe the voice saying it is your own. But I’m here to tell you, you can. You may have to build up the skill set, and it may take you a while to finish, but DIY doesn’t happen overnight! However, there’s nothing wrong with asking for help. My husband helped when he could. Even my kids got involved. I hired help early on with the framing, and I’m glad I did. Then I took over with the rail posts, stairs, decking, and railing. This effort here, is real.
